As FY2017 presses on, we would like to take a look at some of the top categories and top blog posts of 2016 to power you through another great fiscal year.
Top Categories in 2016
The number one category in 2016 was Information
Technology (ADP) Equipment (Cat. 70). There’s no big surprise that IT is once
again, the most widely purchased category on the marketplace. In 2016, IT
purchases made up over 50% of the marketplace volume. Other top categories from
2016 include Communication, Detection, and Coherent Radiation Equipment (Cat.
58) and Instruments and Laboratory Equipment (Cat. 66).
Additionally, the top service category in 2016 was IT and Telecom Services followed by Professional Support Services and Education and Training Services.
Top Set-Asides in 2016
Year after year, FedBid provides access to vendors of all
different socio-economic set-asides and is proud to assist our customers with
the resources to meet their socio-economic set aside goals. In terms of
socio-economic set-asides, FedBid’s top awarded vendors in 2016 were Small
Businesses, with over 90% of contracts awarded to Small Businesses.
Additionally, over 26% of awards were made to Women-Owned Businesses and over
23% of awards were made to Minority-Owned Businesses.
