FedBid needs a killer designer to authority in design decision-making able to flex implementation muscle equally among print, web/interactive and environmental mediums.

Nutshell:

Applicant will be responsible for conceptualization and design of solutions as well as maintaining brand continuity, usability and visual appearance. The ideal candidate will need to be an imaginative, highly motivated and dynamic individual with a strong work ethic and passion for innovative branding. Above all, we are seeking to hire a designer with superior design and development skills with groundbreaking creativity to join an energetic marketing team.

Responsibilities:

This action-driven Art Director/Designer is responsible for collaborating with the VP of Marketing and other key stakeholders on all branding initiatives, including web, digital, motion, video, interactive, environments and print solutions. They effectively communicate and coordinate with team members and other contributors to guide and grow the brand, ensuring the visual design communicates the desired message, and functions successfully for a varying technical, performance and production specifications. The candidate must be capable of leading the creative aspects of a project from concept to execution and have demonstrated strong business acumen. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Serving as a key component of a growing Marketing Team to determine visual requirements that support organizational business goals
  • Collaborating in a team environment to brainstorm creative concepts, refine and validate design solutions
  • Managing and mentoring junior designers to effectively assist and build brand excellence
  • Designing creative elements such as typography, color scheme, photography and general graphic assets for online and offline products
  • Aiding in the design of visual web components for graphic user interfaces
  • Maintaining and producing ongoing design of marketing collateral, tradeshow exhibits, banners, electronic communications, newsletter and special publications.
  • Creating marketing advertising assets for online and print use
  • Archiving, organizing, logging and managing creative assets
  • Researching and developing new branding assets and techniques for digital, space and print mediums
  • Staying inspired, keeping an eye out for innovative ideas and efforts and sharing with the marketing team
  • Planning, developing, and executing an effective online presence in partnership with the VP of Product and Communications
  • Aiding in the preparation of emails, blogs, and other electronic media for public dissemination
  • Proofreading and art reviewing all creative projects
  • Proposing and implementing relevant and innovative applications for inclusion in coordinated marketing campaigns. Includes e-communications, social networking sites, micro-sites, and online content delivery. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications, something Art-related, or equally strong certifications/experience
  • Minimum of five years experience implementing graphic design in the following areas: Interactive, agency creative, and graphic design.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in web design with advertising/marketing campaign experience
  • Fluency in current graphic design practices and web production software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign (Adobe After Effects proficiency is a plus).
  • Strong design style, including creative design solutions within established brand guidelines.
  • Strong conceptual skills, including print branding concepts and online experience concepts.
  • Has demonstrated successful design and brand integration, and the delivery of projects on time and within the given budget.
  • Ability to work independently on strategic issues, capable of managing fairly complex projects.
  • Must have print experience and strong production and pre-press skills.
  • Knowledge of range of web topics and trends such as SEO, social media and CMS.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
