FedBid Wins 5-Year Contract with DHS for e-Commerce Services
October 11, 2006
VIENNA, VIRGINIA, October 11, 2006 - FedBid, Inc., the online marketplace for commodity buys, today announced it has won a five-year contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide the Office of Procurement Operations with online reverse auction services.
The initial contract award of one base-year with four option-years is the result of a competed solicitation.
“This contract will assist DHS in acquiring many of the items necessary to help it fulfill its mission of preventing and responding to terrorist attacks and other threats, ensuring the safety and security of our nation, welcoming lawful immigrants and visitors, and promoting the free-flow of commerce,” said John Lee, FedBid’s Senior Vice President. “Understanding the critical role that DHS plays in protecting our country, we’re very pleased that we can help support the agency’s mission in a meaningful way.”
The DHS award comes as the federal government begins its new fiscal year and as FedBid completes it most successful quarter to date.
