FEMA’s Extended Testing of Reverse Auctions Leads to FedBid Contract

September 27, 2007

VIENNA, VIRGINIA, September 27, 2007 - FedBid, Inc. today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded FedBid a contract to provide reverse auction services in support of agency operations and its disaster preparedness and response efforts. FEMA awarded the contract under FedBid’s U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) task order, which provides for a maximum period of performance through January 2010.

“FedBid has demonstrated that government agencies, like FEMA, can achieve transparent competition for commodity and simple service procurements, even in disaster response situations requiring a quick turnaround,” said John Lee, FedBid’s Senior Vice President of Sales. “In addition, FedBid’s flexibility enables FEMA to conduct Stafford Act procurements with documented performance results. We’re proud to continue our support of FEMA and its efforts to provide such critical services to our nation.”
