Bureau of Prisons to Utilize FedBid

July 25, 2008

VIENNA, VIRGINIA, July 25, 2008 - FedBid, Inc. today announced that the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has awarded FedBid a contract to provide reverse auction services in support of the agency’s commodity acquisition efforts. The contract, awarded under FedBid’s U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) competed task order, enables the agency to continue to achieve process efficiencies and cost savings through FedBid’s dynamic strategic sourcing tool.

“In addition to increasing competition and reducing costs, BOP recognizes a number of process efficiencies, including automated notification, enhanced documentation for the contract file, and ease of synopsizing and posting to FedBizOpps. The agency also appreciates the ability of FedBid to increase the agency’s access to and utilization of small, minority and local businesses,” said FedBid Vice President, Barrie Kydd. “It’s great that we can assist BOP in meeting their operational goals.”
