Fedbid Names Joseph Sorisi as Chief Technology Officer

VIENNA, VIRGINIA, July 20, 2010 — FedBid, Inc., The Buyer-Driven Online Marketplace® for commodity buys, today announced that it has named Joseph Sorisi as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Sorisi will lead FedBid’s technology and web development efforts as the Company continues to enhance its leading online reverse auction marketplace. Prior to this position, Sorisi was CEO of B2X and held senior technology leadership positions at Platform Learning, Columbia House Company, USA Networks, and Ticketmaster.

Sorisi has helped organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies develop and deploy technological systems and infrastructure ranging from interactive websites to e-commerce engines, online marketing systems, SEO programs, and back-office business solutions. Most recently, he served as CEO and, prior to that, as CTO of B2X Corporation, designing, deploying and leading the company’s e-commerce business services unit.
Before B2X, Sorisi was CIO of Platform Learning, where he developed a federal compliant (SES) national eLearning system. He also served as Corporate Vice President of IT Operations of Columbia House where he re-engineered the online business to improve the user experience and increase e-commerce revenue growth.
As Vice President of Technology for USA Networks, Sorisi helped CEO Barry Diller manage and scale the company’s e-commerce assets, including Ticketmaster.com and HSN.Com. He also designed and developed leading websites for the PGA Tour, NBA and other strategic partners. Earlier, he served as Vice President of Technology for USA Networks subsidiary, Ticketmaster, where he played an important role in scaling the company’s technology services globally. Prior experience included technology leadership positions with Technology Solutions and services companies like Datapoint and Interlogic Trace.
